Meet Hillary Tassin, MD

Dr. Tassin obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Florida earning degrees in Economics and Chemistry with Cum Laude distinction. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a research assistant at The McKnight Brain Institute where she developed an interest in fundamental research. She continued her training at the University of Florida where she earned her medical doctorate degree. During medical school she organized and led a team of 30 health professionals on multiple medical mission trips to the Dominican Republic. She also served as an instructor for the University of Florida Physician Assistant Program.

Dr. Tassin then completed a 3-year Internal Medicine residency and a 3-year Cardiology Fellowship at UF Health Shands Hospital. During this time, she won numerous accolades including the “Excellence in Ambulatory Medicine” and “Outstanding Resident Teacher” awards. She also completed additional 1-year fellowships in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation as well as in Cardiology Stem Cell Therapy Research. During her Cardiac Transplant Fellowship, she had the responsibility of caring for some of the most complex and ill patients in one of Florida’s largest academic referral hospitals. She also had the unique experience of being involved in the selection and harvesting of donor hearts for those patients on the heart transplant list. Additionally, she developed an expertise in caring for patients with left ventricular assist devices (partially mechanical hearts) and attended multiple national LVAD conferences. Following the completion of her medical training, Dr. Tassin earned board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Adult Echocardiography. During her 7-year tenure as a cardiologist at Naples Community Hospital she developed invaluable relationships with many physicians in the Naples community, and maintains a robust network throughout the state of Florida and the Southeastern US. She continues to serve on the faculty of the NCH Cardiology Fellowship.

Dr. Tassin is passionate about delivering empathetic and personalized quality medical care by listening to her patient’s needs, thoroughly reviewing their medical history, coordinating their care with both local and remote medical providers, and applying contemporary medical knowledge to enable them to meet their full health potential.

In her spare time, Dr. Tassin enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 elementary age sons. She has a love of nature and particularly enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking, and nature photography. She has also completed several half marathons.
